About Jo Bowler
Jo Bowler is a writer and designer based in Deptford, London. She grew up in a household where regular parties with friends and family would all conclude with a raucous sing-a-long. The songs ranged hugely from Delta blues to sea shanties, from folk classics to jazz standards. Her uncle, a talented guitarist, introduced her to country blues and ragtime, whilst her mother instilled a respect for early blues musicians like Robert Johnson and Ma Rainey. Behind every song, every artist and every performance is a story, be it personal, political or philosophical. It’s the stories that are at the heart of Jo’s musical journey.
